MwanAfrika Education Foundation is a duly registered not-for-profit initiative that seeks to cater for the educational needs of marginalised children on the African continent irrespective of race, gender, religion, and nationality.

MwanAfrika is a Bantu word largely used across Africa to mean Child of Africa.

One of our current programs has been designed to focus on the education of children who are victims of conflict in what is known as the Former British Cameroons or Anglophone Region of Cameroon.

MEET OUR BOARD

Godrey NTI | Converner

Nationality: Cameroonian

Country of Residence: South Africa

Godfrey Nti is a Business Leader, Strategy Consultant, and an International Speaker. He has held various leadership positions throughout his 22-year working career.

Godfrey holds a Master’s Level Professional Qualification in Accounting and Finance and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. He also holds a Diploma in African Political Economics from the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute (TMALI), University of Pretoria.

He is currently the Executive Director of GNN Strategy Consultants and The Leads People Digital Strategy Pty Ltd – twin companies specializing in providing holistic strategy advisory services to companies and personalities. Godfrey also holds the position of Vice Chair of the Board of the International Association for Sustainable Economy (IASE).

Godfrey currently holds five independent directorships in companies and not-for-profit organizations as well as trustee for 3 different benevolent Funds across a Africa.

Prior to Godfrey’s current roles as stated above, he was Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI); Chairman of the CEO Committee of the Global Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), a global standard setting body for the financial Planning profession. Furthermore, he was Financial Director of De Montfort University, South Africa Campus and before then Group Accountant for National Investment and Savings Bank in his native country, Cameroon.

Benedicta NKEH-CHUNGAG | Member

Nationality: Cameroonian

Professor Benedicta Ngwenchi Nkeh-Chungag is Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Walter Sisulu University. She earned a doctorate degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and later obtained a Master Degree in Public Health from the Walter Sisulu University.

Prof Nkeh-Chungag is an NRF rated researcher, leader of the Cardiometabolic Research Niche Area and chairperson of the Animal Research Ethics Committee in Walter Sisulu University. She is also the Deputy Chairperson of the South African National Council for the International Society of Physiology. Prof Nkeh-Chungag is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Clinical Interventions in Aging. She serves as reviewer for both local and international journals. She has published over a hundred scientific works and presents her research findings at both national and international conferences.

Prof Nkeh-Chungag has supervised and mentored both postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows. She also has a wide network of international partners and participates in internationally funded research projects. Her current research projects include the investigation of cardiorespiratory health in 6-8 year old children (funded by MRC) cardiovascular disease risk in children exposed to HIV/ART (NRF), pre-eclampsia (SAMRC) and cardiovascular disease risk in SARS-COV disease (EDCTP/DSI). These projects are carried out in collaboration with both national and international partners from six countries.

Prof Nkeh-Chungag’s research focuses on exploring cardiovascular disease risk factors in people of African ancestry in an effort to determine the risk cardiovascular disease risk profile in this population. She is also involved in efforts to find medicinal plants that may be useful in managing some of these risk factors.

Carlson Ifughe is a commercially savvy and experienced business, change, and personal development professional with extensive international experience in Africa spanning over 18 years. 

Carlson Ifughe has obtained a Postgraduate (MBA), Honors degree in Business Economics and Bachelors of Business Administration degree.

Carlson has proven track record in new nosiness development, diving business growth, client engagement and retention stakeholder and relationship management, business strategy formulation and execution, personal development, entrepreneurship, account management as well as design ,development and delivery of transformational change.

He is a dynamic and results driven with a solid reputation in established multinational companies and start up in financial services, telecommunications, FinTech Entrepreneurship, personal development and academic, he is a strong advocate of service, value creation, continuous improvement and growth.
